February 10, 2008: I have recorded some new vocal music. Ambient musician, Gregg Plummer and I are working on a collaborative CD.

Update: November 1, 2006 A new CD recorded in the Cistern Chapel was released. You can hear sound clips and order on my website.

Update: Good News! On June 5, 2006 I have scheduled a recording session in the "Cistern Chapel" at Port Townsend, Washington where Water Birth was recorded. The voice treatments have helped me have a "window" of good singing voice that lasts for two to three weeks after my Botox treatments.

Previous Message: I wish I could continue to sing and record in tunnels as the past. Unfortunately, I have developed a neurological disorder called Spasmodic Dysphonia (SD) that causes vocal spasms.

At first SD impacted only my speaking voice, but has now progressed to impair my singing voice.

It has been challenging to find a new "instrument" to get the music out of my head and onto a CD. My 5th CD, "Sailing the Solar Wind" represents that evolution in my music. I moved away from performing and recording live, vocal improvisation in tunnels to a style that combines processed vocals, field recordings of nature, loops, and manipulated sounds.

My doctor and I have not given up on the possibility that I may be able to sing again. I am undergoing medical treatment for SD. I hope that it may, just possibly restore my ability to sing. Until then, I am still composing and will be releasing new CDs.
