SAILING
THE SOLAR WIND - The Tunnel Singer (Electronic
/ Ambient) Lee Ellen has always had a passion for singing in
areas that had beautiful, natural reverb qualities, and the
advent of computer software also allows her to do so now in
a ‘virtual tunnel’. One could almost describe Lee Ellen’s music
as a more concrete version of Constance Demby’s space music,
but it is more than that, and certainly original, too. Weaving
the human voice, various instruments, and electronic sounds,
the Tunnel Singer has created a rhythmic, haunting voyage through
space, sailing the solar winds, but then she also takes us on
an imaginative musical and mystical journey across the Earth.
We experience an ‘enchanted rain’, become a ‘desert flower’
and the red colour of the first chakra, explore ‘sea caves’,
and finally take part in a ‘raven dance’. Lee Ellen’s other
CDs are just as interesting, offering her own fascinating musical
interpretations and improvisations on the constellations (Night
Skies), the sea and inner space (Water Birth), the flight of
ravens through Time (Ravens in Moonlight), and Celtic music
(Inner Runes). All performed in various natural and electronic
tunnels. Eclectic and creative music well worth a listen. http://www.tunnelsinger.com
